My name is lucy jules and I went to one of your semenars at the kamloops Indiand band, this is where I first heard about your low glycemic meals in minutes. I did receive your cook book but I leant it out to ours and never got it back.

I had to lose weight so that i could donate my kidney to another person who needs it, away when I started on the low glycemic meals in minutes i had lost 17lbs in the frist 2 weeks (my weight was 215lbs when I started) I am now at 185 1/2 lbs now. With learning how prepared my food has really helped.

The reason why I want to win this cook book is because I need to go back and remind myself of how to get back on track when I lose sight of what i am doing for losing wieght.
I heard about the contest on facebook and found the website

cookbook giveaway

I am following the Healthy for Life lifestyle plan and need to learn how and what to cook for this lifestyle.
Dr. Strand let us look at the cookbook at the Swim Center Challenge nutrition class. I found your website by typing in LOW GI on Facebook. I would love to have your cookbook!

Cookbook Giveaway

I started my low glycemic eating plan last week with the USANA reset and it worked wonders I started at 263lbs and I lost 9 pounds. I found your site when I went looking for low glycemic recipes. I am a single mom with limited income and a 13 year old daughter who has been sick for 2 years with an undiagnosed issue that has her in a wheelchair since last September. After the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital said they could not find the root problem , I knew that I had to start looking at alternate options to get her healthy and find her diagnosis. I found Shrink A Thon and that I could setup a charity that would allow my friends and family to sponsor my weightloss at 1 dollar a pound that I can then put into a fund to get her Alternate medicine treatments that are far too expensive for me. I need as many resources as possible to help me make this a livable tasty experience for my daughter who has been through so much already and she is not very happy with the meals I have made so far! I need inspiration for the meals, I need this cookbook!!

I am planning on losing at least 60lbs and I have a long way to go...this would truly make a difference in my journey!

Thanks

hi,
name: Berj
e-mail: berjmarkarian@optonline.net

I would like to win this book because i started a low g.i. diet last year, and it has worked wonders in many aspects of my life. It has greatly reduced stress for me, improved my overall mood, and helped drop 35 lbs. and 7percent body fat by eating low-g.i. meals along with lite excercise. It has opened doors for me and gave me a better social life.
Im very happy for choosing Low g.i. meals, yet im limited to making only a few different meals since i just started eating Low g.i.

1. Why do you want to win this cookbook?
We are in the 3rd week of the Healthy For Life seminar and this would help us prepare meals that work with the discussions during the seminar. I have heard that most of the recipes are really tasty and very easy to prepare, which is perfect because I love to cook, but don't have time to spend all day in the kitchen.

2. How did you hear about our cookbook and this website?
Through the Healthy for Life seminar leaders, Bob & Kay Strong.
They use the recipes for our weekly dinners.

HOORAY for giveaways!

I have the older version of your cookbook that I ordered a few years ago and I'd love a new one. It's by far, my favorite low-GI cookbook!!! I can't even remember how I first came across the book and website. All that matters is that I love it, right?! If I win, you can DM me on Twitter - SkinnyMamaNish. Thanks!

Help for the Generations

I am looking for more help for my family and my husbands parents, my parents and my children and theirs. I believe that Low GI meals will be the answer. Both my parents and my husband's parents are in desperate need for change. I pass on healthy information often. My father in law is diabetic and the current diet he is on is not working. I would like to supplement all of our families with the information you have in your book. I saw one briefly at the Healthy for Life meeting wishing I had it right then.

I would like to win this cookbook as my husband was diagnosed with cancer last August and has been controlling it through a naturopath and a low glycemic diet that includes only fish, organic vegetables, organic chicken or turkey. We bought a low glycemic book from the naturopath but it only had 20 recipes in it. I am running out of ideas and time (own Uniquely Green Home Decor store) and would like tasty ideas that could support him in his journey to avoid radical surgery by eating low glycemic and organic.

I had a baby 6 months ago and have some serious baby weight to lose!! As someone who doesn't know that first thing about cooking a meal I constantly turn to cookbooks to help me out. I have managed to get a good exercise routine going but I've never learned about eating healthy. I desperately want to be healthy and teach my kids to be healthy! I'd like to be able to share these recipes with other mom's who are looking for creative healthy meals to make for their family.

I heard about this cookbook/website through facebook!!!

We Need This Book!!!!!!

I have been on a Low Glycemic/More Activity Life Style as I like to call it (not diet) since June 2009 and have lost 82 pounds, so far. Of course my family will eat anything I make and does not complain too much. The only complaint is that they are a little bored of the same things over and over again. My problem is, I work a lot of late hours, so I seem to go back to the same "go to meals" that I know will not take too long, will meet my requirements and that they will like.

Since the New Year my husband and daughter have also decided that they would also like to start eating healthier all the time, cutting out all the sugar and higher glycemic foods. So, today while I was off, I was hoping to find some quick, healthy, low glycemic meals that could help me, when I found your website on my search. Your book sounds like exactly what we are looking for.

My other goal is not only to encourage them to eat healthier, but to also feel comfortable helping make some of the meals on the evenings I don't get home on time. This way we are not eating too late, which is also better for us.

Your book is exactly what we need!!!!!

Win a Cookbook!!

I work at a local elementary school, and upon returning from our Winter break, we began a "Fatitude" program at work. There are 16 of us signed up with great "Attitude" and a goal to support each other and increase our level of daily activity and lose pounds! We have a goal of losing 241 pounds amongst us all. A lot of us have tried our own weight loss plan with little result. Because your cookbook offers such delicious, nutritious meals, it is my thought that this would be a good way to introduce a program that was healthy and could be maintain by all.

I, personally, have had your cookbook for approx 1 year, It quite honestly has pages stuck together ... as I have used it so much ... and am a very messy cook (I guess). I randomly searched your website looking for a Usana distributor.

Thanks for entering our contest to win a new cookbook.

Both myself and Laura distribute USANA as we feel the products are of great quality and something we can endorse whole heartedly.  If you wish further information, you can e-mail me at cherylchristian@shaw.ca

Cookbook Giveaway

1. I want to win this book to give to my mother-in-law. She is starting to eat really healthy and is looking for good healthy recipes that she can make for herself. She is willing to try anything to get healthy and treat her body well. She would also be great at promoting the cookbook to all of her girlfriends.

2. I heard about this cookbook through my best friend Christina Giudici. The Giudici's are amazing family friends, and great dietitians, and Christina is helping to find recipes for the next book! Love them, and know Laura Kalina a little too, so it must be a great cookbook.

I'd like to learn more about

I'd like to learn more about low GI eating plans. This book would be a good tool to help me learn.

I heard about the cookbook/site on twitter.

Want to learn

I'm just starting to learn about eating low GI. This site and book look like a great resource to help me.

I heard about it on Twitter.

Love to win the cookbook

I would love to win this cookbook because I can't seem to keep the one I bought long enough to cook a meal out of it. I work with many people on low glycemic eating and lend it out all of the time to those that I coach. Recently, I let someone borrow it and I have no idea to whom. It is definitely now a lost copy. Therefore, I want my very own copy that can live on my kitchen counter that I can use with my own family. I am a huge proponent of low glycemic eating and have heard such rave reviews of the cookbook.

I heard about the website through Ray Strand's website, Carmen Marshall with Live Well International and saw the contest on Twitter.

Want to win the cookbook to fight cancer

I would love to win a copy of your cookbook. I have a family history of diabetes, so a low glycemic diet was on my radar, but I had never put it into practice. Then, I got a surprise diagnosis of cancer. I'm in the middle of treatment now. I just saw David Servan-Schreiber speak about his book, Anti-Cancer, and learned that low-glycemic foods also play a role in preventing cancer. Now, I am especially motivated, but am too tired to make anything elaborate. And, when I recover, I will go back to work and won't have time to make elaborate meals for my family. So, the idea of quick, simple, low-glycemic meals is really appealling.

I heard about your cookbook & this website by doing a web search on "'low glycemic' & meals"

My name is Mia, and you can reach me at amazonwoman AT whitfieldweb DOT com. (I've spelled out AT instead of @ to avoid webcrawlers from spamming me. Thank you for understanding.)

Cookbook Giveaway

I noticed this book in my local library and brought it home to preview. I thought, "here is a book that I would actually use often. The recipes are appealing, quick and easy to prepare and the 'quick prep' idea is the perfect answer to eating properly and not being tempted to grab something less healthy when hungry". I like that the book is coil bound: it's meant to be used, not just read!

I would love to win this book, especially to improve my husband's health. He tends to eat the wrong foods when he comes home from work tired and hungry, and by using the 'quick prep' method, there would always be something better for him to 'grab' from the frig and feel satisfied. The book's format makes it easy to keep handy for reference and frequent use.

Cookbook!

I'd love to win a copy of the cookbook as I am trying to de-program from a lifetime of counting points and calories to try and lose weight. Low GI is really counter-intuitive at times (Ice cream is low GI??) but I really want to find a way to eat that is easy, healthy, will lower my blood sugar and doesn't require keeping a daily journal!! (I HATE that!) I love food, love to eat, love to cook and I want to be able to do it in a healthful way for myself and my clients (I am a personal chef).

I found you ladies when you responded to a tweet I made. Your blog is a great resource for me as I laern about low GI eating.
